Pitfields have just completed our building works and we are delighted to have worked with a company who have shown such meticulous attention to detail and have carried out the work in such a thorough, friendly manner with as little disturbance to us as possible.

I asked Pitfield Builders to construct an extension to our bungalow. The work is now complete and we are very pleased, not only with the quality of the work, but also with the very good relationship we experienced with both Pitfield Builders and their subcontractors.

Pitfield Builders are a family run local building firm, friendly, reliable and a mixture of youth and experience. For me they rebuilt a dilapidated garage and remade a concrete path to match the patio around the house. They listen to your requirements and pay attention to detail.

I have no hesitation in recommending them.

We have used the services of Pitfield Builders over a period spanning almost 20 years. Over this time they have carried out major ground work and renovation projects, some ‘period’ sensitive, as well as small wear and tear repair jobs. Their hands-on management coupled with dynamic young staff work alongside more experienced tradesmen. They have all the necessary plant and machinery, sourcing and managing specialist sub contractors when required.

They are friendly and very reliable and we have no hesitation in recommending them.

Pitfield Builders undertook a major renovation and refurbishment contract for me on a Grade Il Listed Devon Longhouse. The project turned out to be considerably more extensive than was anticipated as progressive works uncovered major problems with the house we had purchased in a poor condition. In the end the contract concluded with a total spend of approximately £250k and involved major structural works (new oak beams/floors, rebuild stone door frames/opening up and renovation of inglenook fireplaces). The house was fully gutted and completely refitted with all facilities and heating, water and electrical systems.

The quality of Pitfields’ work and their empathetic understanding of what was appropriate in a house of such age and character was exceptional. With the Pitfield brothers leading — Rob on the contract management and Will on the build, what they created was a wonderful home which we truly love. They didn’t need supervision, or design and specification guidance, they just got on and did what was right. Everything that they did simply hit the nail on the head.

If you want quality work from a firm that really cares about what they do and deliver, then you don’t need to look beyond Pitfield Builders — they have my unqualified recommendation!

Once again I have to compliment you and your ‘chaps, Paul and Alex who did a great job and who are a pleasure to have around. I must say that ‘Allerford’ looks really good and as we hoped it would.
